[00:00:25] All while sipping your morning coffee. If this is what you've been looking for to get your business noticed in more places than just social media, you are in the right place. You're gonna love what comes next. Let's go.
[00:00:37] Hello and welcome to another week of SEO.
[00:00:39] Today I'd like to discuss different types of traffic sources that bring people to your website. The sources I'll be discussing are direct, organic, paid, and what is known as other. If this is a subject that confuses you when it comes to looking at your analytics, or even why you're not ranking in the number one spot on Google. This episode [00:01:00] should help you.
[00:01:03] so direct traffic sources. This is when a client knows your business so well. They can type your URL into their browser and go directly to your website.
[00:01:13] It could even be if they've saved your website in their browsers bookmarks, and then they've clicked on that and gone directly to your website. Especially if they're wanting your services and they save it in their bookmarks, on their browser.
[00:01:24] Or if they found your details from one of your offline marketing publications, like a business card, a brochure, a QR code, maybe even a billboard. However you market your business. If you have your website underneath, they might be able to type it straight into their browser and find your website.
[00:01:42] Direct traffic is a great source and a really great indicator of if your brand is memorable and you have clients that trust you. They just wanna go straight your website and work with you right now? another great traffic source is organic and we love organic because it is free.
[00:01:58] These activities can drive [00:02:00] people to your website to learn more about you and contact you directly This type of SEO comes from your keyword research, your website design and structure, your internal linking your SEO titles and meta descriptions or SERPs. And when you share your experience on your website, your customers already know that you are the person that can help them.
[00:02:20] And maybe even you've increased your customer experience on your website. So people want to stay there for long periods of time. This all helps with organic SEO, and it can also come from your audience just knowing your brand so well they're able to type your business name into a Google search or even try and find you by typing your business offerings and the area that they know that you live in into their browser to find your website.
[00:02:42] To see how your specific organic SEO is tracking. Go to Google Analytics acquisition, traffic acquisition, and under traffic source you'll be able to see many of these other traffic sources that I'll be discussing today as well.
[00:02:57] So paid, SEO
[00:03:00] paid SEO is exactly how it sounds. It's when you pay a search engine to boost your website, a post, a video, or a search result for a certain day, time or period of time using a particular keyword or keywords.
[00:03:15] Google Ads is a great example of this because everybody wants to be on that top spot of Google search, which is very achievable but it depends on how much you're willing to pay for a specific keyword to get to that top spot.
[00:03:28] The way Google Ads works is that popular keywords are higher in ad price. If you see that there is a popular keyword with a low ad price, these might be the ones to get because you can get really great results without spending as much money. Note, if you already know which keywords do well for organic search, this will help your ads to ensure a more aligned result with your dream audience, with less money being paid for these results.
[00:03:54] And finally the last traffic source is other. So what on earth does that mean? This [00:04:00] type of SEO comes from all of your other online marketing efforts. It can be referral traffic from a backlink, from a blog post or an article. It could come from your industry association. If you're a part of a health and wellness industry association.
[00:04:16] It could be from an online community or a networking website. If you've joined and you've got links back to your website.
[00:04:23] It could also come from your digital marketing, like your email newsletters, and social media links. There are so many ways for your audience to find your website. And these are ways your marketing efforts all impact how search engines view and rank your website in search results.
[00:04:40] If you want to increase your ranking in search results, try adding some of these strategies mentioned in the podcast or in my online course with the same name, SEO Espresso.
[00:04:50] Okay? Let's wrap it up for today. If you've enjoyed this episode and know someone who also wants to learn SEO, please share this episode with them so they can learn along with you.[00:05:00]
