[00:00:37]
[00:00:38] In the last episode, I covered what a keyword is, what tools to use, and how to do the research. So in this episode, I share how to bring all of your keyword research together and how to create those unique keywords that appear right in front of your dream customers and clients.
[00:00:54] Here are four steps you need to take to just this. First, [00:01:00] combine your industry and location keywords. So for example, my industry keyword would be website design, or SEO strategist. My location keywords would be Melbourne, Elwood, the areas that I live and operate within, essentially.
[00:01:15] And so when you combine these two together of the industry and location keywords, I would then be a website designer in Melbourne, or website Design Elwood, or SEO Strategist Melbourne, or SEO Strategist Elwood. And I could even stretch it to St. Kilda, for example, because there's a slightly bigger population there, and therefore I might be able to attract some from a suburb.
[00:01:38] So combine your location with your industry keyword, and this will be a fantastic word you can use within your content and across your website to attract people from those areas. Number two, use the words your clients are using when talking to you to describe your businesses and services. This taps into what is known as [00:02:00] search intent and using words that align with the keywords your audience are using when they're trying to find services specific to what you offer.
[00:02:08] Like I mentioned in the last episode, look back on your old emails dms that they might have sent you, maybe even some meeting and see how they describe your business, your industry, and offering your services, anything related to you and see how they describe you. I want you to start adding these specific keywords into your content and targeting them, because if these are the words they're using in search engines like Google, you'll be found so much easier.
[00:02:36] And also, don't be afraid to talk to your audience and ask them these questions as well of how would you describe my business? How would you describe the services that I offer? Things like that. And then start using those keywords in your marketing.
[00:02:49] Number three, Know what sets you apart from others within your industry, and work these keywords into your content.
[00:02:55] What words would you say best describe you. Combine your [00:03:00] service keywords with your point of difference keywords. So again, mine would be website designer. and then my point of difference keywords would be that I am I specialize in WordPress websites, I like working within the health and wellness industry.
[00:03:17] I have made quite a few e-commerce websites now, and so I add these specific words with my industry keywords, and so then it comes up with female website designer, WordPress, website designer health and wellness websites. E-commerce website designs, all of these different keywords I can start using within my content to attract people looking for these exact things.
[00:03:40] And I want you to do the same for your business.
[00:03:43] Number four, use synonyms of your service or your offering throughout your website, content from blogs to pages, imagery, and copy. So obviously, I want you to keep your keyword for a particular page to be super clear. So all of the keywords that we've been discussing above [00:04:00] this, I want these to be your very specific focus keywords for each of your , but, On each of these pages, I want you to use variations of these keywords because sometimes people don't always use the keywords you think they're going to use. One day, they might just decide, instead of calling you a website designer, they might call you a web developer, a graphic designer. Or something else along these lines.
[00:04:23] This has happened to me many times before. I do get called a graphic designer a lot and I need to keep clarifying to my clients, that I'm actually a website designer. So you've got to think a little bit about the variations of how people describe you and how they might mistake you for something else.
[00:04:39] And just working that into your copy in a way that, for example, I would never use graphic designer in my content because I don't wanna be mistaken for a graphic designer, but I do put designer. ' cause then I can say that I am a designer of websites and then I can design websites or something like that.
[00:04:55] So then. Even if someone is looking for a graphic designer for a website, I [00:05:00] still appear because I've still got that designer for websites within my website itself and attract people who are searching for those terms. So I want to make sure that your website also appears when they call you something different than how you'd usually be described.
[00:05:15] If you haven't yet downloaded my Keyword Creator guide. It'll walk you through this exact process so then you know what to do and what to research.
[00:05:23] Okay, where do we put these keywords? So this is the fun stuff, or at least it is for me. You've done the research, you've discovered your keywords, and you've combined them with everything that makes you interesting, and you've combined them to make some irresistible key phrases, and now you want to use them on your website to attract some absolutely beautiful, dreamy, dreamy clients.
[00:05:45] This is exactly how you do this. You are going to weave them through your website, through your copy, your page headings in your URLs, and your metadata. You are going to label your website images and alt texts and descriptions using [00:06:00] keywords related to each page, and you are going to use only one main key word for each webpage, for each post, any products, anything like that, it all has to be unique.
[00:06:11] And then you link your page keyword internally and externally from your website and create posts and pages and offerings using your long tail keywords that your audience are interested in learning about.
[00:06:25] SEO is so important and it may be complicated, confusing, and if you're feeling like it's too hard for you to do it all by yourself.
